The Number 1

Let's make room for ... "The Number One." : "What's the number one anyway?" Today we will learn about the number one. When someone says there is ONE of something, they are talking about the number of objects. : "Like my ONE flag?" : "Or my ONE toy car?" That's right, Skylar and Henry. Those are GREAT examples of the number ONE. Can you see any other examples of objects with the number one in Henry and Skylar's room? There is a number ONE trophy on the shelf. Is there another example of the number ONE? There is ONE stool under the table. What does the number ONE look like? (pause for think time) Skylar and Henry both have the number one on their shirts! The number one looks like a straight line that goes from top to bottom. How do you write the number one? To write the number one, start at the very TOP line and draw a straight line all the way to the BOTTOM line! Let's help Henry and Skylar draw the number one. Try drawing a number ONE in the air while you see it on your screen. Start at the top, and draw aalll thheee waaay down! Let's try to draw it one more time.
