      How do I set up access to sofatutor?

      You can set up access to sofatutor during the subscription booking process — this applies for all the types of subscriptions we offers. If you’d just like to test out sofatutor for free, you don’t need to set up access. All you need to do is provide your e-mail address on the video page to activate our free video content.

      What kind of subscriptions does sofatutor offer, and how do they differ from one another?

      You can choose between a Monthly subscription and a Lifetime Access subscription. For the Lifetime Access subscription, you pay a one-time fixed fee in return for access to the sofatutor learning platform for an unlimited amount of time.

      Do I need to register to view free content?

      You don’t need to set up an account on us.sofatutor.com to view our free video lessons or try out our free practice problems. All you have to do to access our free content is provide your e-mail address.
      To test out sofatutor content for free, simply click on the “Math Topics” option in the black navigation toolbar at the top of the sofatutor website and choose the content you’d like to try out from the menu. Then, choose your desired video from the list provided and start watching. You can also do this on the sofatutor homepage.

      Questions about Subscriptions and Payment to top

      How do I redeem a voucher or discount code?

      You can redeem a voucher or discount code on the website that’s linked in your offer information, or by visiting the Enter Code page on our website.

      If you’ve already set up free access to sofatutor, go to the “My Account” page in your user account, click on the “Account & Settings” tab and then enter your code into the box labeled “Enter Code” on the left-hand side.

      Please note that, in general, you can’t claim discounts after purchase.

      How and when do I need to pay?

      We send you the first bill for your subscription right after you book. For the Monthly subscription, your monthly payment will be charged to your credit card or PayPal account each month. For the Lifetime Access subscription, your one-time payment will be charged to your credit card or PayPal account after purchase.

      What kind of payment methods can I use?

      You can pay for your sofatutor subscription by credit card or PayPal. Indicate which of these payment methods you prefer during the “Payment Information” step of the booking process. We accept MasterCard and VISA cards. If you opt to pay by PayPal, you’ll be forwarded to PayPal right after completing the “Payment Information” step so that you can verify your data. After you’ve verified your PayPal data, you’ll be forwarded back into the sofatutor booking process. You can check your data one last time on the “Check and Confirm” page before submitting it. Your purchase isn’t complete until you click on “Confirm Purchase”.

      Is the data I enter secure?

      sofatutor takes data security very seriously. We work strictly in accordance with legal regulations for data protection. We only used encrypted connections to transmit your payment data, and we delete your payment data if you cancel your subscription or provide new data.

      When is my subscription extended, and for how long?

      Your Monthly Subscription is extended on the day after the last day of the subscription period you’ve most recently paid for. This extension lasts for one month.
      If you’re not interested in extending your subscription, you can always cancel your subscription at the end of the month in your Account settings or by sending an e-mail to our Customer Service representatives.

      How do I cancel my subscription?

      You need to cancel your subscription before the subscription period comes to an end. You can either cancel it directly in your sofatutor Account settings or by sending an e-mail to our Customer Service representatives. If you opt to cancel your subscription via e-mail, make sure to provide your e-mail address when doing so.
      In order to directly cancel your subscription in your Account settings, log in to your account, go to the “Subscription & Settings” tab, and click on the “Cancel Subscription” link. Your current subscription will be displayed here. Simply click on the “Cancel Subscription” button and confirm that you would like to cancel your subscription. After you’ve successfully cancelled your subscription, we’ll send a cancellation confirmation message to your e-mail address.
      To cancel your subscription via e-mail, send a message to help@sofatutor.com containing the e-mail address you used to register with sofatutor and/or your sofatutor customer number.
      You can find the end dates for your current contract as well as your subscription in the cancellation confirmation e-mail, your last bill, or the “My Account” user account page (log in to access this).

      Can I still use my subscription after I’ve cancelled it?

      You’ll still have complete access to our video lessons, practice problems, and Homework Chat (depending on the type of subscription you had) after you’ve cancelled your subscription, until your subscription period comes to an end. We can’t refund payments that you’ve already made for your subscription.

      What’s “My Account”?

      “My Account” is your personal sofatutor user account page. It provides you with an overview of your sofatutor account. You can view and organize your recently watched videos and favorites here. You can also access your subscription and privacy settings from this page.
      To reach the “My Account” page, you need to log in by providing your user data. Click on the “Login” option at the upper right-hand side of the black navigation toolbar. Enter your user e-mail address and password to log in.

      How can I edit my profile?

      To reach your user account, click on the “My Account” option at the top of the black navigation toolbar. Click on the “Account & Settings” tab, then on the “Profile” box at the left. To edit your profile information and/or upload a new profile picture, click on the little pen icon in the box, or on the “Edit Profile” link.

      What do I do if I forget my password?

      If you’ve forgotten your password, we can send a link for setting a new password to your e-mail address. Click on the “I forgot my password” link under the login option at the upper right-hand side of the black navigation toolbar, and provide the user e-mail address that you use to log in to sofatutor. We’ll then send an e-mail to the e-mail address you provided containing a link to a sofatutor page where you can set a new password. You’ll then be forwarded to a page where you can use this new password to log in to sofatutor. Whenever you change your password, we’ll send you a change notification via e-mail.

      Do I need a special technical setup to watch the videos?

      No, you don’t need any kind of special technical setup to watch the videos. However, you do need to have a device with Internet access, an up-to-date browser (such as Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Internet Explorer), and a stable Internet connection in order to play our videos without any interruptions.

      Can I recommend videos to my friends?

      You can indicate that you liked a video by clicking on the “Helpful” heart. If you want, you can also share the video on Facebook. When you share the video on Facebook, all of your friends can watch it for free for the next 2 hours — even if they don’t have sofatutor subscriptions.

      Can I bookmark videos that I want to watch later?

      If you really like a video or you want to watch it at a later time, simply click on the “Bookmark video” link to add it to your favorites. Your favorites are saved under “My Account / Favorites”.

      Our video lessons are all made exclusively by excellent teachers, professors, and students. That way, we ensure that all of the content on our platform meets the same high standards of education.
      We set high quality standards for our video lessons in terms of their factual and didactic content. That ensures that we can create successful, engaging study tools. Each sofatutor video lesson is screened by two independent educational experts before being uploaded to our platform. Experts oversee each stage of the video production process, from writing the scripts to putting on the final visual touches.

      I’m an American user. Can I still use the German sofatutor learning platform?

      Our American users are more than welcome to visit and log in to our German learning platform. However, when you’re logged in to the German learning platform, you’ll only be able to see the previews of our German-language video lessons.

      What are the differences between the American and German sofatutor platforms?

      Our learning platforms differ in terms of language as well as content. sofatutor makes sure to localize all of the content on our platforms in keeping with the educational standards of the country in question. Because of this, the contents of our respective platforms differ in accordance with the differences between the educational systems of the respective countries.

      Since our US platform is our latest project, it features our latest digital video lessons. Although our German platform covers a range of different subjects, at the moment, we’re only offering Math material on our US platform. We’re starting slow to make sure we can give all of our US-targeted material the attention it deserves.

      Is there a sofatutor app for smartphones and tablets?

      You can access sofatutor on your tablet via your browser — you don’t need to use an app. We’ve currently got an iPhone app available for our German-language platform, and we’ve got additional mobile projects in development.
