The kids are laughing, so the verb is to laugh! Here is the next sentence. The woman is cutting bread. What is the verb in this sentence? The woman is cutting the bread, so the verb here is to cut! Here is the next sentence. The bee is flying. What is the verb in this sentence? The bee is flying, so the verb is to fly! Here is the next sentence. The book is falling!
