Today we learned about 'T' ending blends. Remember that consonants are letters that aren't vowels, and that we can blend or mix them together like other things such as paint or brownie batter. When blending two consonants together, you hear the sounds that each letter makes.

To figure out ending 'T' blends; * Start by saying the sound the first letter makes. * Then, say the sound the next letter makes. * Finally, say the sounds of the two letters faster until you get the blend!

Dee is in the kitchen and he is very excited! He's making lots of cookies for the bake sale tomorrow. He has a base dough that has vanilla, and is adding in different flavors to make blends. Kind of like consonant blends! We can help Dee by learning about T Ending Blends. You might already know that consonants are letters that aren’t vowels and about blends, or, when you mix something together. But, did you know that letters can blend together, too? When blending two consonants together, you hear the sounds that each letter makes. Consonant blends can be at the beginning, middle, or end of words. In this video, we will explore consonant blends with the letter T at the end of words. Let's take a look at Dee's first batch of cookies. He's mixing in fruit with toffee! What happens when we blend the letters F and T together? To figure it out, we need to… start by saying the sound the first letter makes. Here the letter is F which says the /F/ sound. Then, say the sound the next letter makes. Here the next letter is T and makes the /T/ sound. Finally, say the sounds of the two letters faster until you get the blend! The letters F and T make the blend /ft/. Like in the words soft or sift. Next, Dee is mixing in nuts and toffee together. What do the letters N and T make when blended together?
